"Casa Lavignia", sleeps 8, situated in a tranquil, ancient, stone working village in a peninsula of Istria-Croatia 20 minutes away from the international airport and the same distance from the coast.

Although quiet, visitors might want to visit one of the many interesting places such as Pula with Roman amphitheatre (home of the summer film festival), Rovinj with memorable sunsets, Brijuni National park islands with safari, 18-hole golf course etc., as well as many others. There are also a number of smaller places, renowned for architecture, and food quality, such as truffles, asparagus, cheeses and wine and simply for the beauty of picturesque countryside, alone.

Horse riding, scuba diving, sailing, motor safari, gliding, cycling and rock climbing are just some of the activities one could indulge in.

The house itself is some 100 years old, just undergone substantial restoration, with all benefits of modern appliances such as a washing machine, fridge/freezer, electrical hob-oven, toaster, kettle, T.V (satellite), air conditioned bathroom with Jacuzzi, showers etc. All bedding is anti-allergenic, towels are 100% cotton and are provided, but please bring your own towels, or towels for pets (if any). There is no extra charge for your guests, dogs and cats (it is a requirement to supply us with the relevant certificate of vaccination(s) provided by your vet). Aggressive breeds such as Pit bulls, Staffs, Dobermans, Rot viler and Boxers are not permitted due to the vicinity of local animals.

We recommend room no. 1. For the elderly or disabled as it is easily accessible from the ground floor.
Room no. 2. is ideal for smaller children and teenagers as it is spacious and could be used as a playroom, on the 1 st floor.
Room no. 3. has 2 single beds but by agreement and in advance could be set as double, on the 1 st floor.
Room no. 4 is on the 2 nd floor with a private terrace that has a 360 (degree) view, a double bed and a bathroom that could be accessed also by the 1 st floor. Ideal for couples.

The house is heated partly by marble radiators, partly by an open fireplace and partly by air conditioner. There are 3 fireplaces-1 open fireplace in the sitting room, 1 in the kitchen (ideal for grills), and 1 stove oven in the garden. The personal fitness room with exercise machines and swimming pool are due to be equipped after autumn 2005. The garden is turfed, walled with both plenty of sun and shade and so it is suitable for families with children. There is a corner for everybody either on the sunny terrace or in a thick shade of a walnut tree. The yard is lockable by gate and there is parking space for 2 cars.

In the village itself there is a grocery shop, but all the supermarkets are some 15 minutes away, by car. We recommend supplies of fresh food directly from farms where we will endeavour to help wherever possible. We also recommend renting a vehicle, if not arriving by car. There is a train that stops in the village, which connects Pula in the south and Buzet in the north.
